THE FIRST NATIONAL RESTAURANT WORKERS'

 CONVENING

Greetings!  We hope this letter finds you well.  We are proud to announce the first convening of restaurant workers in North America for Restaurant Workers Uniting! The First National Restaurant Workers' Convening from August 2nd to the 4th in Chicago, Illinois .

Hosted by an emerging coalition of restaurant worker organizations across the United States and led by the Restaurant Opportunities Center of New York (ROC-NY) and Young Workers United (Y.W.U.) based in San Francisco, this will be the first time in recent history that groups organizing in the restaurant industry will join together to think nationally. With the restaurant industry’s current status as the largest private employer in the United States , our wages and working conditions are at stake.  We believe that it is the best time for our organizations to converge in order to ensure that our rights as restaurant workers are protected nationally.  Our objectives of the conference include sharing local issues and strategies, exploring national policies and their implications, and creating the foundations for a national restaurant worker’s movement and association.

We hope that you will join us for this convening.  With your insight into the restaurant industry, we know that your input will add richness and value to what we believe will become a national movement for improved working conditions.  Please register by clicking on the link below. We look forward to learning and sharing with one another as our movement builds.
